I guess SIII will have to go thru the usual drill to get noticed--a nice pop up and then some analyst (undoubtedly their investment banker) gives them an astronomical price target.

But I've owned the stock since June, and I'm very, very impressed with Mr. Potasher's direction. If they continue to consolidate their industry, this alone will raise prices they are able to charge.

What do you think of Cirrus Logic as an acquisition?

I can't believe that chips alone will remain in short supply. Other components--disc drives and video boards--will also experience pricing pressures.

Digital Jam had a piece on Creative Labs' new portable MP3 player which can record 100 hours of music on a 6 gigabyte hard disk. It was about the size of a Sony Discman. It's due out in the spring and will cost about $600. You download to it thru your computer's USB port.

No mention of how bumbable it is without skipping. I have never heard of a portable hard disk.
