well, they certainly manipulate the market via the futures and their up/downgrades right on options expiration days etc.
i think the only thing that could really derail these cozy WS arrangements would be European and Japanese investors beginning to dump their shares...

Yea, the "House" term is just old language for the firms - going back hundreds of years when each was a family operation. House of XYZ.
