As you point out, all indications are that JDSU will have an excellent quarter. And, as noted, this from LU suggests JDSU is doing just fine.

Faster than anticipated shifts in customers' purchases to Lucent's newest 80-channel DWDM optical product line and greater than expected demand for OC-192 capability on the 80-channel systems, which resulted in near-term manufacturing capacity and deployment constraints;

From the after hours quotes, it looks like we'll get hit with the same broad brush as LU, but as we've seen in the past couple of days, the first stock to come back on minor rallies is JDSU. Where is the money coming out of LU (and maybe Nortel) going to go? Seems to me that the list of stocks to be in just got a bit shorter.

re: Then it will be a matter of picking the best stocks to be and i think JDSU probably ranks right up there.

Normally it's the ones that do not sell off as much and the ones that come back first, but since we are in a broad base sell off, we will have to go with the ones that come back first. I agree, it will the JDSU type stocks.
