Doesn't it seem strange that LU is claiming that they couldn't meet demand? They forecast - what $11B revenues and projected .54 cents in earnings and couldn't meet demand... did they not build for success? Does this mean they have excess inventory of products that didn't sell and not enough products for their newer OC192 products? Given that OC192 sales are long lead sales you would think LU would have known. I don't know.. this all seems like a smoke screen to me. It makes no sense. I get the feeling that sales of traditional products are indeed a disappointment. Incentives (financing) to move these products wasn't as effective as they'd hoped (forecasted). In the meantime they're candy coating this shortfall by waving their arms about OC192 and not begin able to meet demand - but as I said - LU should have known about this demand long ago - especially given that LU doesn't recognize revenues until they are accepted by the customer.

AND, that brings up the response I expect we'll here from Mr. Fun. I expect what we'll here is that some revenues were not realized this quarter (deferred to next) because some large installation (or two) had not passed customer "inspection" . And LU doesn't recognize revenues until the customers signs off on the install. That means this entire shortfall COULD be technial problems with an install - an not product shortfall or mix issues.

Thoughts?
