I saw one analysis that indicated minimal EPS contribution by Celeron. All the profit came from the processor lines that weren't competing with AMD. So why wouldn't those profits be severely endangered by AMD's intrusion with Athlon?

No way would I short Intel. It's way too much the tech investors' darling, and I already burned some dough on ill-fated Intel puts. Anyway, who says Intel needs profits to have a rising stock price? They're doing all kinds of investments with that hoard of cash, so that could justify high valuation on a speculative basis alone.

Off the top of my head I'd guess that the stock would be well below $10 based solely on book value.

new weekly update at Sharky Extreme:

sharkyextreme.com

interesting comment by the sharky staff:

"We also searched high and low for the Pentium III 750 and 800 CPUs but had no luck this week"

I might be wrong, but this is the first time I remember seeing them acknowledge the lack of availability of the high end coppers.

Aloha,
Mark
