No, I have read similar claims, but not those particular books. Do you think that it makes sense that so many people would have so utterly misunderstood the movement in which they found themselves, that there was an utter disconnect between what Jesus said and anything they said about him subsequently? Of course, all of history might be pure invention, I suppose, but it seems unlikely. If Jesus claimed to be the Messiah, he would have done so in a cultural framework in common with his interlocutors, which meant one informed by just such prophetic imagery and "angelic militancy" as I have alluded to. Since a whole movement came into being around the idea that he was the Messiah, it makes sense that he claimed to be. Therefore, the least speculative analysis is as I have described.....

Hey Christine.... um, back on this teen romance saga...

I'm afraid I'm going to have to rescind my position or admit defeat. I took a poll today at work of when people lost their virginity. We used that polling internet site so it was anon, and only the employees were on the distribution list - these are all people that grew up in the US - foreign nationals adds too many unknowns to the equation.

The sad story -
At what age did you lose your virginity? (21 total responses - partner must be human)
15 and under Men - 2 Women - 0
16-18 Men - 0 Women - 0
19-21 Men - 2 Women - 5
21-25 Men - 1 Women - 1
25-30 Men - 2 Women - 0
30+ Men - 6 Women - 1
still a virgin Men - 1

Men: mean 21-25, median 30
Women: mean 19-21, median 19-21

So, I guess teen sex wasn't really a problem for this group... omigod - I work with a bunch of nerds!!
