...I think people are just selling top heavy stuff and looking to use all that free money (untaxable gains)for companies with lower valuations and promising technologies for this year. Just selling off the big gainers of last year to buy safer stocks.

I think the declines started that way (selling now so any taxable gain will hit next year) but at this point it's defintely triggering margin calls. Not to mention things like the LU announcement - a lot of people selling there who hadn't planned to.
