Lola, Red has a good reputation (at least from what I have seen from him over the years) for coming up with some very good picks... especially with regards to short term price movement. He is a good guy to have here because that is what everyone here is looking for. You might call it "spam", but I call it a good heads up and a chance to make some money! The only spam I saw Red do was his initial multi-posts about MMI, and the mention of a US stock... both were first offences, and he fell in line after the first MMI incident, and probably would have after this US stock incident. Yes, when he recently showed up to present us with MMI it did take on a bit of a "promotional" tone... that is just his posting style. HOWEVER, after that he really did tone it down and brought other good picks to the thread, as well as keeping informed when past picks were moving. But through all of that time, I noticed some posters on this thread jumping all over him for relatively minor things. Because of the bad impression he made when he first arrived, some people just couldn't drop it and forget it! He posts his opinion that the trading in a stock is short covering (which he is allowed to do IMHO), and people jump all over him and beat the issue to death (and it was a stupid issue.... everyone is entitled to their opinion - and those who disagreed could have posted their disagreement in a much less argumentative and confrontational manner! Yes, posting the US stock was a mistake on his part... but the thread could have politely made their point and let it rest, but they didn't! Red even agreed to not do it again after the thread pointed out how we want a thread for the "treu north strong and free" only. Overall, I think Red made a couple of mistakes, and upon having them pointed out straightened out and played within the rules... any other arguments, etc. that occurred were fueled just as much by others on this thread as him. I hope that Red decides to stick around, and that everyone here will let the little things slide... and when someone does step a bit out of line, we can politely! point it out and drop it... arguments only crop up if everyone jumps in and fuels them! I think the Chiefs thread is a good example of how "rule breakers" can be dealt with. Things never seem to get out of hand there. Anyways... enough of my rambling... I just hate to see a great thread degenerate like this and I hope that we all can drop this for good and get along. ?
