Hi Ray-- Glad you found that exchange interesting. As for the "c" in OC-3c, OC-12c, OC-48c, OC-192c, that stands for
concatenated. A concatenated payload structure allows for
the elimination of unnecessary overhead Bytes in the SONET/SDH frame when there are no sub-rate TDM multiplexed
structures in the frame. In this case, the "c" case, the
entire frame payload is then used for data in a direct fashion.
