Suresh,

That comment about the carriers not getting the funding required is quite ominous. I listened to the sound byte on Yahoo of the conference call and this was not isolated to the USA. He referred to international business too. With rising interest rates the access to capital for domestic/international carrier will get harder. Given that the shine has come off the telecoms and the fact that most people still have big profits to protect I expect that most people will bail from the sector in wholesale numbers till we start to actually get some earnings reported. ADTN's cc may be more important in setting the tone for the sector than in previous years. Unfortunately, it is a self perpetuating free fall. LU misses the number. The sector sells off. Capital get harder for the carriers to get. Sales for LU and other equipment suppliers are deferred. Sector sells off further.

I am looking for an ugly open tomorrow for the sector. If the employment number are not really great, other sectors will probably sell off as people book profits are all cost. There might be bounces worth trading if one is fast and nimble. Unfortunately, not one of my fortés. I have been stuck in meetings the last few days so I have missed most of the action, not good in this fast moving market.

Suresh,

Do you have conference call numbers for AMCC and VTSS. I didn't see
anything on www.bestcalls.com?
