Elmer, re:Gateway has just moved into the same league with Packard Bell. Watch the slow decline into oblivion.

You're right. Gateway has the same problem AMD has: no penetration into the business market. I don't see how the Gateway-AMD partnership will change things much...might even hurt if their Intel partnership sours. I sold the rest of my Gateway holdings at the close today.

Elmer Re <<Gateway has just moved into the same league with Packard Bell. Watch the slow decline into oblivion.>>

And you accuse niceguy of posting junk? Sometime I wonder if you think before you post this kind of BS.

GTW will go to a "slow decline into oblivion.", because they insulted Intel and plan to go to a second source. Don't hold your breath.

Re: Gateway has just moved into the same league with Packard Bell...

Gateway is unique in the industry due to its national chain of Gateway Country Stores - it has its own retail channel as well as one of the best established direct order channels. It is no Packard Bell.

That having been said, it was only a few months ago that Gateway was just as publicly negative about AMD - so maybe those comments shouldn't be taken quite so seriously. (Does this make Intel "in the same league with AMD?" - is Intel heading for the minors as AMD gets to play in "the show?"
