Amy - Re: "I just caught this line. Intel was selling selling 500MHz at 450Mhz prices.
This translates to lower ASP for a particular sale (i.e. during the duration 500's were sold as 450's). Now, whether this has material affect on the bottom-line is a separate question. I sort of doubt it, provided 500s weren't being sold as 450s for a long duration of time. Any thoughts? "

Yes.

Here's a thought.

Who the HECK says this is true ?

Have you seen somebody's name and company attached to this BS ?

Somebody posts an outrageous statement with ABSOLUTELY NO VERIFICATION and in 19 nanoseconds it has become Internet Urban Legend.

Amy, re: Selling 500/450

Assuming this is true, I would say it's a good idea. If you have no 450's, it's a choice of selling them a 500 or nothing at all. The incremental cost differece between a 500 & 450 is probably almost nothing, you book the sale at handsome gross margins. No brainer to me.
