Taipei--Jan 7--Taiwan's gold imports totaled 7.651 tonnes in December,
compared with 7.116 tonnes in December 1998, a statement released by the

NYMEX okays plan to convert to a for-profit organization
New York--Jan 6--The New York Mercantile Exchange board of directors
Wednesday night unanimously approved a demutualization plan which will convert
the exchange from a not-for-profit membership structure to a for-profit org
anization. The plan calls for the equity in the exchange to remain with the
seat-owners of its NYMEX division. (Story .19721)
