Interoute Chooses ITXC as its First IP Carrier
ITXC.net Provides Interoute with Quality International Internet Telephony Routes
LONDON and PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2000-- Interoute announced that it has connected to ITXC.net - the global infrastructure facilitating real-time voice and voice enabled e-commerce on the Internet operated by ITXC Corp© (NASDAQ: ITXC - news).

Interoute, a leading pan-European telecommunications group operating in 11 countries throughout Europe as well as North America, has chosen ITXC as its first international IP carrier.

Interoute has connected to ITXC.net at ITXC's hub in New York City and also plans to interconnect in Europe. By connecting to ITXC.net, Interoute is able to offer its customers the cost benefit of using Internet telephony. ITXC controls the quality of each call by using its patent pending BestValue Routing(TM) technology and procedures. ITXC is additionally purchasing PSTN, for overflow coverage, from Interoute.

In line with Interoute's strategy of seeking cost effective ways of delivering high quality voice traffic, Interoute will use the Internet as a complimentary method to its existing interconnect agreements, of which it already has more than 150. Ohad Finkelstein, Interoute's Chairman and CEO commented, ``As international call costs continue to fall carriers must find alternative ways to reduce their costs, Internet telephony allows us to achieve this. Partnering with ITXC was the obvious solution since they are the clear leaders in this cutting edge technology. We are extremely pleased to be working with them.'

``Interoute is a forward looking Pan-European carrier. The company understands that the convergence of voice and data is the future and is building its network to facilitate that convergence,' said Tom Evslin, CEO and Chairman of ITXC. ``ITXC is pleased to have been chosen by Interoute to be its first IP carrier.'
