B to B Authentication Spice, What the government is doing is great....the 2 billion dollar GSA smart card is the real deal.....but that will come down next year. Teams are forming for that project now. I think the much bigger deal for IDX coming this year......within the next few months, will be the B to B electronic commerce.....and how they will authenticate "brain to box". What Entrust and VRSN do......is to secure, with a digital certificate, the transaction "box to box". You know that the correct computer is interfacing with the correct computer. Great......How do you make sure that the correct individual is at the keyboard?......Right now it is a password.....probably written on a Post-It note stuck on the monitor. This is the weak link....as 70% of all computer crime comes from inside the organization. IDX has a biometric digital certificate.....and index finger scanners that are very inexpensive. And fingerprint data holds up in court. There are several options.....digital signatures, voice recognition, iris scanning.....and so on. But I think you will find the IDX solution cheaper....and quieter, and easier. If you look at the success that VRSN has had........securing transactions "box to box"......I think you can also see the great chances for IDX to be successful in the same way securing the transaction "brain to box" I believe VRSN will want, and need, to offer a product that protects the transaction "brain to brain".....and that they will need a partner to do this. IDX has the biometric certificate...and the entire solution. News on this front will rocket IDX....IMO. Just pull a chart of VRSN....and see what it did for them. bg
