re: "I wonder how many AMD insiders have contributed to this board's whisper."

Probably none. The company is very ethically run. (Say what you want but I sincerely believe this to be true.) Further, they risk being fired if they do so if they know any thing. Such information is only available on a need to know basis to a limited number of people who are not free to open discussion. Others there probably have less insights to what is happening than many of us.

A surprising delta, still, between this board's whispers and that number. I wonder how many AMD insiders have contributed to this board's whisper.

Greater fool, the whisper # I gave, is at large and did not originate with this board. The gap that exists between this board's #s, and the whisper and consensus #s has to due with this board's degree of bullishness and level of responsibility (to others....obviously analysts have a much larger constituency than board members).

Having said all that, I believe that AMD has understated earnings this quarter and that business this quarter was greater than anticipated. Therefore I think AMD's eps will come in somewhere between the whisper # and the consensus # for this board.
