Now, would the institutions really ensure the price of the stock gets creamed, thereby scaring out many holders, just so they could get their grimy paws on more shares at a lower price? (rhetorical) Naaa, not those guys.

Could anyone who traded today private message me with their opinion about the following fill time? Does a 10k buy at the market sitting for ~6 minutes during the rally back from 5 to 7 sound very slow? I actively traded in the past and never had a market buy sit even close to that long. The brokers excuse was that it is a BB stock but this seems very slow to me. I posted it at the market after giving up on limit orders (in EDIG's case).

Chris

Pam:

The chart you are referring to is from Thompson, here is the link:

thomsoninvest.net

However, I doubt that's really Big Boy, because those are 20k trade. For the stock price we are at today, that's not too indicative. You can try some other stocks and look at the trade size and know what I mean.

I think we are still in the stage of day traders, short sellers, and regular folks like you and me....

I like Buzz's post about how this game is played!! Check his post.

All...

I debated whether or not to post this as it is truly speculation on my part, but I have some fairly strong feelings about this. I posted on RB not to long ago that with the potential of this stock and the phenominal interest (hell the whole world is looking for the next Qualcomm) , my feeling is that the institutions may attempt to control this stock. I believe this is what we may have been seeing today. It is very possible a hedge fund may have come in to help take this stock down to more reasonable levels. They could have initiated the selloff. The institutional buying that has been picked up on today helps, i believe, to confirm my reasoning as they knew it was time to grab their positions. That along with the fact that, all indications this A.M. were this stock was going to continue up. With the substantial buying power we have seen coming in and the momentum, my belief is it should have continued this morning as everyone knew there was the possibility we will be seeing some substantial news over the weekend. I believe it would have continued after taking out the GTC sell orders at 10.

I was not watching the trades go through so I am just going off of what I have read through the posts here and RB and from my own past experience.

I know this post reaks of accusations of conspiracy....but this is the way the MM's and the institutions like to play when it gets out of their control.

Actually, I think this speaks alot for EDIG and it's potential as the big boys aren't willing to let this stock get too far ahead of itself...too far, to fast. Or I guess it could just be greed ;)

In their best interest to cool it off as some MM's could have ended up short, in the frenzy, as well.

Alot of daytrader money in this stock this week as well and as we know some don't like to hold positions over the weekend.

The other scenario is that were just too many GTC sell orders in at 10 which would correlate to the timing being just right to take it down.

Just some thoughts,

JBH
