Dennis: Yes. Your post # 4888 is the basis for my statement. Very much appreciate all that you are doing to keep us as up to date as possible on news whereever it comes from on the "opening in China".

And the point about the Philippines was interesting, however the "tone" of the Ericsson statement about how CDMA was just "among" the non GSM dominant wireless world was a bit off putting to me.

Seemed like minimal enthusiasm from the Ericsson rep there.

But then I am somewhat bruised from the "holy wars", so I am probably unduly suspicious of how Ericsson "reps" think in Asia or anywhere else. A corporate culture does not turn easily, and with the "new" Ericsson leadership at the top being the "old" Ericsson leadership which took every cheap shot possible at CDMA and the Q in the past, I see no pressure from the top to understand, let alone promote, CDMA.

Hope I am wrong.

But if engineer is right and the kicking is coming from the Chinese and not Ericsson's own leadership, seems like Ericsson is a weak reed on which to lean for CDMA in China or anywhere else.

Kyocera is an entirely different matter. And my bet is with KYO.

Best.
