>> Do you expect former TCI employees to suddenly provide good service?

Up here is Seattle, we have a long-standing hate-hate relationship with TCI ... scan the Seattle Times archives if you want to read some horror stories.

Yesterday, these re-badged TCI folks put a notice on my door that they were going to be tearing things up around here to bring me the wonders of cable internet.

Now I am faced with a real investment policy check. Here I am with very nice DSL service backed by very available and expert people who treat me as rather more than a consumer unit ... Seattle's oldest ISP from back in the UUCP days, now a unit of Winstar.

Do I stick with quality, or support my investment?

I'll probably do both ... but the experience really brings home how marginal I perceive T's cable service to be ... when I put it in the mission-critical frame.
