hi

from what little I have read I think the bottom line is not disclosing your trades-ie if they want to make recommendations buys and sells it's fine - but trading in those same stocks and not disclosing trades to members is the problem- and I am not clear on whether or not it even matters if it is a paid site- my impression is that if one holds himself out as an "investment advisor" paid or not paid and was doing the same thing as tokyo joe ie selling securities while making buy recommendations he could also be held accountable but then that would probably include all the SI gurus - so not sure- anyways -not a subscriber of Anthony's- was on SA for about a month just to see what all the buzz was about- So can not speak from experience or personal knowledge but it does NOT appear to me that Anthony is the "pump and dump" type as TJ but who knows- guess we shall see how it all turns out at some point.

Just seems a waste of time to continue attacking him or even really having this discussion. If you like his site/thread read it-if not move on.

IMO I do have compassion for those individuals who lost money on his website- but on the other hand we all are responsible for making our own investment decisions- and if someone lacks the intelligence to decipher through the bs on all these sites and ends up losing their money well I honestly believe they should probably be invested in mutual funds and not trying to "get rich" quick- and I am of the opinion that most who probably lost out were those looking for a "free lunch" I will be the first one to admit that I have gone through all of that- knew nothing when I first came on SI- and still know just a little more than nothing :) But if I lose, I lose- not gonna blame it on anyone- and I can guaranntee you noone on TJ website was complaining until they started losing money.

If people want to set up sites such as TJ- so be it- and if people are dumb enough to fall for it- so be it-imo
