Thanks, Martin, I will look for that. For CREE fans, here is a link to a Stephens report put out yesterday. Pretty impressive. Thanks to unclewest for finding it, and apologize if it has already been posted.

what chance there is of their catching up to HDR

And how long it will be before that catchup is likely to occur (there is a point after which it is unlikely to matter) and what will have happened in the meantime in terms of broad-based adoption and a moving target of top speed.

Martin, Sorry I don't have the link, but I read an article a while ago that pointed to heat problems with EDGE that for the present haven't been overcome. I.e., as they raise the speed for EDGE, the chips start generating too much heat. That has implications for long-term reliablity as well has power use, I believe. Maybe Lindy was referring to this, and other issues, when he pointed the difference between the lab and the real world. And, maybe he'll amplify.

Best,
JS

what chance there is of their catching up to HDR,if at all.

IMPOSSIBLE:(def)

A violation of a law of nature.

Martin, it is impossible for TDMA to be tweaked to catch up with CDMA.
