I saw a TiVo product in the store the other day. I also ordered a new 7000 receiver from Dish network that has similar, though more limited, recording capabilities, I'll see how it works. Anyone know if the TiVo device uses Gemstar technology, and if Gemstar gets license fees, or is this a competitor?

I wish Gemstar would buy TIVO. The resulting product would be the absolute must have addition to television. I could then retire and watch TV for the rest of my days.
