Kash - RE: "There are also rumours of an AMD design win in the Microsoft gaming system."

Did you read that somewhere?

Someone wrote that in a post at Yahoo but didn't post a link or how they got the info so I blew it off...

Sharkyextreme has mentioned it a few times, but no confirmation yet.

"Is the Gateway news in the stock price or does anybaody expect another pop on monday."

Hmmm, the past few days had an upgrade and an upping of earnings estimates so there is a chance GTW hasn't been factored in yet. It might depend on what speed Athlons they use.

Hi kash:

I can't resist! No GTW is not factored into the price at $32.50 (personal and business systems!)and neither are Q4 earnings of well above the street number of negative $0.07 (i.e possibility of breaking $1 billion revenue barrier) nor is a realistic present value of expected future earnings which could come in at $7.00 per share if one accepts Salomopn Smith Barney's Y2000 production estimate of 12.5 million "spry Athys", stable microprocessor prices and a strong flash memory market throughout Y2000!

As previously mentioned, it looks like Athlons could add $1.00 to Y2000 eps for each increment of 1 million Athlons shipped if pricing infrastructure remains stable!

kash, re:<rumours of an AMD design win in the Microsoft gaming system>

WOW, that would be MUCH bigger news than Athlon in DELL would be, IMO, though the market may not see it that way immediately. Plays into the "profits beyond the PC" picture.
