I know a lot about the former (disclaimer, I own USIX), not much about the latter. Application Service Providers, in a quick nutshell, outsource the hosting and connectivity for web-based software deployment.

Active Server Pages appears to be Microsoft-based scripting that serves up dynamic web pages. Every once in a while, if you view the URL bar, you will notice it ends with .asp (rather than, say, static pages listing .html or dynamic ones listing .cgi). That stands for active server pages, go to pretty much any link on MSNBC and CNBC to see that.
