Excess margin is a sure way to sell at the bottom.

I'm astonished at this. It is the absolute opposite of my experience with margins.

I use margin regularly, frequently at the max, and frequently adding to it. Never had a margin call...never, not even close, and it's never cost me capital.

For me, margin is a constant and irritating reminder to stay tuned. When things begin to go flat, I take my profit and wait for the next leg to establish itself, and go in again. It doesn't work with iffy companies, but it does with good ones with solid futures.

One lesson I have learned this week is that Gorilla gaming will overcome fear, unless you bought the Gorillas/Kings on margin.

Margin violates/negates/neutralizes the "reduced risk" benefit of Gorilla gaming.
