Thanks for the great description of how options orders get filled in the beginning of the day, as well as for the news about the soon-to-be-opened ISE. That's very good news for options traders.

So, have you got your smock tacked to the wall over your monitor? <G> I know of a couple other ex-floor traders here on SI. You guys are great traders.

based on communications i have with many investors who are using options to enhance their portfolios, it appears that many on line and discount brokers tend not to have the ability to offer adequate execution of option orders, be they limit or market. one of the major concerns seems to be something as basic as getting a current "best" bid and ask quote from the various exchanges. hopefully the implementation of an "ise" will resolve the problems that most face.
