Yeah... they still put you on hold for a couple minutes... happened to me today when I was shorting MCF in fact.

One hint to all the Greenline folks at least. I've done this quite successfully for a few weeks now and pretty well do it on every pre-anticipated trade,

Put in an order outside the trading range. If I'm targetting a sell on TWE at $23 and it is currently at $22.50, I'll put a sell in for $24. Then as usual I watch it as it climbs. When the MOMO looks like it is peeking I pull up the change order screen... flipping back and forth between the tickers and the change order screen numerous times. I may even go as far as the validation screen without actually submitting it. As soon as I decide to sell, I submit the order change. The order flies through vs. if I had entered it for the first time or tried to phone it in only to sit on hold for 2 minutes. The same thing works on the buy side although maybe not quite as quickly. I don't know why this works. Maybe there is a different queue?? Maybe they don't have to check you own the stock at that point (if you are selling) since the first order was approved?? Maybe they don't have to recalculate a margin if you are buying?? All I know is that it has made a huge difference.

The one thing I avoid these days with Greenline is stops on fast movers. How's that for ridiculous. Because they have to reenter them manually (as per all special orders)... they take forever. Can easily take over 10 minutes in a fast market they tell me. You could lose your shirt before the stop even gets entered at their end. Might be fine if you're investing but for trading they are useless. I've complained and complained but didn't get any satisfaction. On stuff like NT, COR, etc. I do the same thing as above using a mental stop... I don't particularly like doing that because sometimes I have a weak mind.... but it is better than the alternative!!!

As an aside.... I had a few shares sitting with Investorline from months and months ago. Haven't even logged in there since last summer. I did sell them today at $9.70 however. Anyhow, I couldn't believe how impossible it was there. It took longer to bring up the order entry screen than to put through a whole transaction with Greenline. Sometimes I complain about Greenline but man.... it is no wonder they're doing so well... there's not much competition for them.

Very sad!!!
