$500K with 50% profit = $250K, $250k/25million shares =$.01
If the whisper numbers were -$.03, and official estimate was -$.05, then it would make since that Ancor would still beat estimates by $.01, coming in at -$.04 This is if the whisper numbers were correct. If not, then it could be -$.06, but Kumar still says -$.05, therefore it will be $-.05 or better.

But if companies like MTI were going strong in Dec. who knows what kind of surprise we could see, maybe breakeven quarter. I wouldn't be surprised if MTI had a strong December.

>>Can anyone tell me what the news is if the loss per share estimate is unchanged from 12/8/99, despite the deferred revenues?<<

Eggzackly, George. Why, I clearly remember whatsisname stating last CC that Ancor would meet it's 4Q estimate without any revenue from Sun. So now, some $500k that could have been booked this Q has been dumped into next Q's pot? That's fine by me, so long as the deferment's occurrence is the result of cool heads prevailing over the arcane matter of revenue recognition.

I usually don't book money until what is delivered to the field is signed off. And the lab and the field can sometimes be worlds apart, it's parse and parcel on the bleading edge. They'll get it done, whatever it is, and pocket the dough then.

We'll have to wait for Ancor's explanation of why they won't book money they never planned on or announced booking anyway. I don't recall any public statement from Ancor of them shipping SUNW. Do you? If they did whisper something of that sort to Ashok, it showed up in his analysis as a statement that Ancor was shipping to Sun. He must have construed that to mean that revenues were going to be recognized this Q also. He, along with everyone else, should listen harder, IMO.

In the long run, this is all much ado about nada. Looks like a lot of shorts got their $45 break even. Congrats. Any mangy malingerers may find themselves becoming crispy critters in a fire sale, soon.

In the meantime, ADIC and MTIC are bucking and their strength lends support to ANCR hitting that (.05) target. Way to go. Looks like Ancor got some things done out there alright.

Douglas

I just read over 500 ANCR posts at Yahoo, and am a little dazed (and confused). There is rampant debate over there about whether there will be negative news from Ancor management before the market opens on Monday, or just a brief statement reiterating that things are not going badly at all.

Do you, or anyone else, have any comments on what very negative and unexpected event could drive ANCR lower? Or is it the sentiment of most longs here that the worst is out of the way, and we will open higher?

All comments welcome, and thank you!
