LPS5, I seem to recall that SOES began to really lost its' usefulness in the late winter and spring months ranging from 1997 to 1998, and that by summer 1998, most people were using SOES only in emergencies, and then rarely. Coinciding almost precisely with my initial venture into the trading arena. Even as a newbie, I figured out that things were not working they way they were "supposed" to, then took a long sabbatical to see if I could find a better way than staring at L2 and counting on immediate executions that were not happening. Fortunately, there is a better way, and thankfully some of you more experienced folks have shared much of it on this thread. Dan
