What happened to those GSTRF bulls I was sparring with early last week? I fought the tape and won.
BTW: Why slam Anthony? His short picks are ones that I am usually onto myself. The real crims are the analysts who set unrealistic price targets; God bless them as they make money for nimble longs and shorts.

PLUG<-------Fuel highly uneconimical!!

CC = Central Power plant combined cycle
FC = fuel cell power plant

Here is the text of that post ,,Thanks Gary

Capital costs:
CC = $500/kw
FC = $1500/kw in future = several thousand$/kw today

Fuel costs (leverage of purchasing power)
CC = $2.75/MM BTU
FC (residential rate) = $5.50/MM BTU

Efficiency (conversion to electricity)
CC = 55 - 60%
FC : less than 40%

Capacity factor:
CC 75%
FC: if sized for peak loads, factor is 25% given nature of residential power use

Offset: save distribution charge with FC but unless consumer wants zero backup power he/she will pay some sort of charge, even zero charge does not offset above costs.

Bottom line: distributed FC power at best marginally beneficial in high cost electricity areas like NE today BUT NE is being invaded by merchant CC plants (many with GE turbines) which will drive down electricity prices - so window of opportunity for FC will shut
