Why was it surmised; that Gates wants a fight with EDIG. Don't get it from this and in fact I didn't get it from anything that I've read in the last 3 daze.

Rumors really suck (g), wouldn't you say ? If Falk reads SI, maybe he'll make a statement of fact....

From Bloomberg.

<<<E.Digital said it's working with Lucent Technologies Inc.
and Microsoft Corp. to develop alternatives to the so-called MP3
technology, which allows people to download high-quality audio,
often for free. Record companies say the MP3 format isn't secure
and can't prevent users from making multiple copies. It also lets
artists distribute their music cheaper than record companies can.
``We are working with record companies to make sure our
music player will support their content when they make it
available,' said Fred Falk, e.Digital president and chief
executive>>>

I had heard that this release was not entirely correct at that Wendy was working with Bloomberg to correct. I believe that we have a backdoor relationship.
