Ben, Gary and All: I just talked to Worden tech support about the TCV3DATA export file problem. Here is my understanding of the situation.... 1.) TC2000 Ver 3 used a 2-digit date field. Worden tried to make a fix for Ver 3 such that it would be a 4-digit date field to be Y2K compliant. They couldn't come up with a fix for it...and they WILL NOT fix V3. In other words, Ver 3 is gone, never to be fixed. Therefore, when you use "Smart Export to the TCV3DATA file from the Databank, the digits are in a 2-digit format and unreadable. 2.) TC2000 Ver 4.2 uses a 4-digit format and is obviously Y2K compliant. 3.) One option for using 3rd party programs with the 4-digit format is to now export Worden's data in ascii format. To do that you go to Databank/Export to Text. 4.) Once you are in Export to Text, you'll need to fill out the necessary information. You'll need to use the "single field" and know basically 4 things.... a - - the ORDER of the dates your program reads b - - the type of data DELIMITER your program reads c - - the EXPORT PATH your program reads d - - and whether the dates are read in ASCENDING or DESCENDING order by your program If your program picks up ascii format, supposedly this procedure should work. I haven't tried it yet myself, however. 5.) My understanding is that what ever Worden has done with their program, it is to stay "as is". In other words, no one should be waiting for anything different from them as to the use of the old TCV3DATA export function. If it doesn't work with your program now, it simply won't work at all. So you are left with two options.... ONE - try the ascii export function as I described above. Or... TWO - Work with your 3rd party program people to see if they can make their program pick up the 4-digits. All the above is my best recollection / interpretation of my phone conversation with Worden's tech support this morning. Some of the above may not be exactly right, so take it FWIW. Hope this helps.
