Mysef, <their OUSTANDING track record will continue.>

I agree :)

You know, Intelabees like to rely on past
performance of Intel to trash AMD and sustain
their faith.

If I remember correctly some earlier roadmaps
of Intel, back into 1995, the P68 (Williamette?)
was expected to appear as early as in 1996!!!
With frequency target of 400MHz in 0.25um.
It has been slipping year-by-year since.
Now, can we apply their logic to this
past record? Or something is different at Intel
this time?

Ok, we can assume that it was a tactical delay
since the PPro core derivatives were doing
pretty well in the marketplace. But what about
their strategic Merced project that supposed
to bring inTel into heavy-weights of enterprise
computing? Same story: industry was guided to
expect the first silicon in 1997! Again just a
two-something-year slip...

Something different must happen to break this
track of records. And there are differences,
all right. The old facist/socialists-style
management is gone; ole bright minds got stuck
in front of charts of Intel stock. The
second-bright layer has reached the Peter's ceiling,
and inexperienced youngsters with abnormal
attitude are driving the company to new
records and outstanding product releases...

On the other hand, real men know that past performance
does not guarantee future results :)
