Disappearing resources...

Try running System Monitor. Choose some 'likely suspects' to monitor and observe any unusual increase in resource allocations as you work. Click Edit, Add item or Remove Item, and choose what to watch. Help will give you additional hints.

You may need to change the 'graphing' choices in System Monitor to get a clear picture of what's going on: I don't like the default line graphs for most cases.

Do the resources dwindle steadily or do they remain stable and suddenly disappear? Are the results you see expected or surprising?

Another thing: If you ignore the warnings, what happens?
