From Barron's:

This Might Be News To Some Swineherds

To the Editor
Your economics editor, Gene Epstein, may know his way around
commodities. However, as a New Yorker, his knowledge of matters of the
farm is disappointing, but not surprising.

His "Snout Count Rising" (Commodities Corner, November 1) refers to
"herds" of pigs. Please tell Gene that when referring to groups of pigs (swine),
the correct term is "drift," not "herd." "Herd" is the term used for a group of
elephants. Note also that an obsolete term for a drift of swine is a "sounder,"
which may still be used in some areas of the country.
