I took the plunge early last year primarily to better my trading skills and for earnings plays. And picks on watchlist that matched trades i'm involved with gave validation that I might be on the right track.

As an educational tool, I find it invaluable. There are different styles of trading introduced on this thread (and the MG website), and if followed properly, could be considered as real time seminars...p&f, breakout, reversals, support/resistance, bottom fishing, sector trends, momnetum, a little TA flavor for all to fit the niche, all without the overwhelming number of posts to weed through, we even have a psychologist...

There were times when I second guessed my subscription, as the performance measure of most of the sotcks correlate with broader market movements, therfore negating most breakouts of the watchlist. And the issue of 10 new stocks per day add up over the course of the month. On top of that, if involved with earnings play, only adds more to the confusion. At certain points, thought about cancelling my subscription more than once as I no longer perceived its value to my betterment.

Well, the truth of the matter, by following the watchlists, earnings plays, I've been introduced to other sectors, companies i may have never considered. And with an empahsis on sector rotation, those stocks that fit my ctriteria are now catalogued and ready deployment...right now, getting an education with ADR's,Bio's...Watchlists, well, my perspective has changed as I am now taking the time to understand.

Depending on your situation, if you're looking to maximize your time efficiency, maybe the watchlist would be of great benefit as those that are technically prepared for breakout are included, so no more of wading through the picks....

personally, I continue the research efforts as I scan select boards, Kim's included, always looking for opportunity as the power of the message boards cannot be discounted. Silicon Investor happens to be very influential not only to the individual investor, but I would venture to guess the bigger boys are paying attention as well. In a loose sense, absolutely nothing wrong with herd mentality, provided it is understood, and knowing when to say when.

Best way to get started???...get your membership going, find how MG fits into your game plan, and it'll take one opportunity to more than pay for your subscription...shit, GOJO more than paid for a classroom of subscribers for a year...
