Fascinating.

I remember at the time the rationalizations that Richy Glassberg was a smart cookie, and couldn't be stepping into what it looked like he was stepping into. Thus, by some kind of twisted logic, the deal must be on the up-and-up.

I also remember scouring the Turner Media website, finding his direct phone number, and discovering that his voice mail at Turner was still connected.

I briefly considered leaving him a warning about what he had just gotten himself involved in, but didn't.

Now I wish I had. But, then, it was already too late...

In any case, of all the speculations that we made at the time, it looks like the correct one was that even smart people make mistakes. It is incredible that he apparently did not check-out the backgrounds of Hayton and others involved in the deal, but that does appear to be the case.

Here's to a better 2000! (+600% in 1999, and still holding 400 shares of ESVS for good luck, LOL!)

Good gosh, the gas-house gang have all re-convened!!

Party, trust you to spread a great article!! And no spin on it this time *grin*

Well, Jon has already flung his two cents in, so I'll say no more ... but why, what was it, 120,000 shares of Zulu today? Is this Pat Hayton doing a reprise as Phoenix? These are probably the last of Burgess' shares hitting the market ... hey, this thing could EXPLODE!

Sorry, got carried away there ...

I only checked in 'cause this thing's still on my faves list, and I'm too lazy to houseclean ... it was a bitch to remember my p-word for this response ...

Good to see y'all still alive in another century ... you too Fred!!
