Regarding the "heat of IPO's" and Fed adjustment: I read a day or so ago (wish I could refer you to it) an item that discussed IPO fever in 1998 and the anticipated blowoff. It went on to say that no sooner had they decided it was an IPO tulipmania that after a short lull IPOs went ballistic again in 1999 ( and we know that was the case). The article concluded that the demand for new stock as a place to invest capital was so huge that we would be unwise to think for a moment that the IPO market would dry up and look for repeat activity this year, 2000. FWIW
