Charles - <You are distorting the facts and you know that. My last report on bin splits several weeks back was that 800 MHz bin splits are in high single digits. (they may have gotten a little better now but I haven't checked since)>

I'll drop the 1 stuff. That was a distortion.

<This may come back to haunt you. If rumors on OEM sampling is any indication, Intel is not even close to what AMD is sampling nowadays. The thing to be seen is if AMD can ramp production without any significant glitches>

I don't understand the way AMD samples product then. WHy didn't they annonce an 850 if they are so far ahead? Charles, sampling may not be the great indicator you think it is. I'm sure Intel could also samples some very high MHz parts, witness, next month. So do you think that AMD is going to tgo form 800 to 1000 in the next month? If they are, then I'm worried. If not, I'm not.

<I would say Pricewatch is a pretty decent measure. This is when demand and supply are in a reasonable balance. Do you agree? >

Yes, too a degree, but Intel is having supply constraints that have nothing top do with yields or the technology ("just can't ramp fast enough"). Yields are fine Charles. Volumes are on the curve. I like systems available. There are 800's available now (GTW?). I like it because it probably closer matches what I'm seeing, i.e. volumes of parts going out the door, but no pricewatch.

To further respond to this, I believe WC for INTC is a matter of single digit weeks, until Willy comes out. I've said Athlon might win. You seem to take exception to my saying it'll be close. Have your friends outlined the process and design roadmaps for you?
