i have been on this thread for quite a while now and although i don't speak for tim i think its safe to say he is not leaving. tim spends many, many hard hours running this thread and like most of us gets tired and that seems to be when the detractors jump in. when you or i get tired we just take a few days off and no one notices. when tim gets tired he seldom gets away because so many here need his guidance. i believe tim mostly enjoys what he does and i know he cares about the members of the thread. by sunday night i'm sure he will be back rested and ready to go. remember leaders don't get to be leaders unless they are strong.

Buck

Thank you for putting into words what so many of us feel.

This thread is going through growing pains, as well as SI, and maybe this is something that needed to happen so we can help Tim fine tune what he is doing for us. Trying different ways to handle this situation, has exhausted Tim. All those phone calls to everyone, all those PMs repeatedly. Thousands of them. One at a time they were done.

Tx Buck, great post! Not only was it a thoughtful and eloquent appraisal of this thread and chat rooms in general, you ended up making quite a case for capital punishment as well!

Seriously, though, any group, organization, or society is only as good as it adheres to its own values (and is willing to defend them by punishing or isolating violators). The decline of American civilization in the last half of the 20th century will be the textbook example for future generations.

Tim has a right to feel disillusioned but I also believe he has a strength that will easily withstand this little storm of "cyber-graffiti." Too many good people here.

In the meantime, let's make some money next week!--MK--
