I give up, Unclewest. I'm going to buy a little CREE on Monday. You talked me into it.

unclewest: Congratulations. The case you have made for CREE is the best, most succinct, comprehensive and persuasive I have seen in a long time. Touche.

I picked up some CREE to watch it earlier, now I will have to find some way to add.

After further DD of course. But you have made that task much easier.

Best.

Unclewest:

Thanks for all of your information on CREE. I was wondering if you were familiar with Agilent / HP's SiC LED products? I heard through my father that a friend of the family works for Agilent and says that they are selling LED replacements, and the products are being used in things such as stop lights. I found this on HP's website, although I am not sure if it the product that this guy is working on:

hp.com

Is this product a competitor to CREE's?

Justin

I just took a fast look at CREE, because of the posts. My first reaction is:

1) It's a Fab House

2) Just at 2 Billion Market Cap

3) Any time a Fab House gets this kind of margin on an item, you can bet your sweet ass that 50 guys in Taiwan are ramping up to compete with them. And they laugh at patients on a commodity like this.

Nothing wrong with making money on it, but I don't see it as a Gorilla or a King, and it is still too small for our board. Take the hook out and throw it back.

(Hey, you didn't think you could post a new company here and not get an argument, did you?) :0)
