E., Chip companies are considering at least 28 major projects to expand or build new fabs in 2000. Of the total number of
projects under consideration 47% are new fabs, 46% are expansions and 7% are described as significant upgrades.

Projects By Chips: ASIC 39%, Foundry 29%, Logic 21%, DRAM 7%, Other 4%.


Well, I guess we know who makes a lot of ASICs. I guess this means that LSI's competitors need more foundry space. LSI should have plenty at Gresham.
