I own oil stocks comparable to BR and UCL, but my largest holdings are oil and gas royalty trusts, since among my various other delusions I imagine that higher energy prices might be one of the factors in puncturing the bubble. With all this paper money floating around the world, all these expatriate dollars, together with the fact that energy is seen as a necessity second only to food and health care, I think it likely that the price of energy relative to things such as AMZN stock certificates, which do not work well in the gas tank of a car, could well hold up even in a serious economic depression. I also like the tax benefits a lot.
