and what people don't get about high tech is this :

technology is wonderful, but some new companies, currently operating out of peoples garages may well eat the lunch of the current top fliers...Mike Burke has periodically mentioned a list of tech darlings from a decade or two ago and very few are around now (and if they are they are not the top companies)...

there's less competition in the commodity type stocks...one can't start an alcoa from their garage <g>...

Really enjoy reading this thread, and I am learning a lot. Reason 6 gets my attention. This cannot continue, but it does!

I remember a few years back my old boss gave me a negative rating in "dealing with people" section of my performance review. He claimed that I was very effective, except when dealing with people who did not respond to logic.

I would very much like to play this pig market on the downside, but I am afraid that logic is not in control. Its really a matter of timing, and I don't have a clue to when the clock will really strike midnight.

My question is why now? I have been expecting a real correction since March 99.

What target do you have for the Dow and Naz if we get a meltdown?

Thanks

Thurston

What's unbelievable is that these hair raising maneuvers actually work and have been working for the last few years. They have made millionaires of a bunch of people.
