A Theory FWIW...

I picked up a copy of InfoWorld today and was reading about the government's relaxed cryptography standards. Originally, these were to be finalized and released in December, I think. But, there was a storm of protest from certain vendors and providers who thought the standards were still too restrictive.

Now, the revised proposed regulations are to be released on January 14... which according to my calendar is but days away. These regs, or says the article, will be excellent fodder for the upcoming RSA conference. The revised regs are (or speculated to be) SUBSTANTIVELY more favorable to vendors and, by extension, OEMs.

I THINK--and this is just a theory--that this MAY be contributing to the upward bias of the stock right now (today notwithstanding). Of course, there is the anticipation (which I hope is not too overheated) re: SS's ViaVid interview and the PGE report with its timelines deferred... and AOL/Time Warner... and I want my AMD... and...

FWIW... Best Regards,
