I think it is more than that. I don't think Intel's management(or any other company's) would risk pissing off the stockholders. And, that's what they will do if they cut PIII margins too much. There is a threshold of pain that people do not cross. Intel is right there. (to be sure CuMine will give them some additional short term ammo to cut costs and compete more aggressively. However, this is extremely short window because by the time they are fully into CuMine, AMD would also have migrated into socketed infrastructure)
