Solar, wind generators, small gas generators. And if you have ever lived in a third world country, you realize that even with power distribution in place, reliability is very bad. In fact, wireless is ideal for places that may have four or six hours of outages per day, at random times.

EXCEPTIONALLY OFF TOPIC I'm in the market for a desktop and laptop and am focusing on monitors for the moment. What is the difference, if any, between an LCD and an LED display? Of LCD, LED and flat-screen CRT, which is best for serious use while manipulating photos and highly detailed music graphics? Please respond by PM so we don't clutter the thread. Mike, One at least of the fixed terminals that Schlumberger is making for G* is solar-powered, I believe, which feed batteries. Plunk it down anywhere and start talking! Best, JS
