Am I missing something here? Or is it by: qcom_me 1/9/2000 12:59 am EST Msg: 95420 of 95421 that advances such as HDR, and it's future generations, cannot be visualized by the common man? The internet, as we know it today, lives in a confined environment based literally on millions of miles of WIRING that connect our PC's to one another. That is what makes it soo powerful. For the majority of us, it comes into our homes on a WIRE, a cable in my case, maybe a phone wire in yours. And we pay money for this limited service. I also MUST have a phone in my home. It comes into my home on a WIRE. And it is limited to voice. And I pay money for this limited service. I also have a few television sets in my home, and again, they are connected to a WIRE. And I pay very good money for this service. If you're lucky (and rich) you have an HDTV in your home... on a WIRE, and you pay MORE money for this fine, but again, very limited service. Now, do you own a cell phone? Most of us here do. Is there a WIRE? No, not here. Now, can the technology that removed that one single WIRE from us also remove ALL OF THE OTHER WIRES coming into your home ?? Of course it can, and it will. There will be no "wired internet" as we know it today. Those wires will become extinct. It will become the AIRNET. Your PC (and everyone else's PC) will connect via AIR. No phone WIRES, no TV cable WIRES, no internet cable WIRES. We're talking about a new WIRELESS world here that will utilize existing ground infrastructures. And who will be responsible for moving all of this data? Qualcomm. Our best bet on the wireless world. Do I exagerate? If so, just qcom_me Yahoo Q Post.
