Gary <While I have purchased Mac before, I am still puzzling what an iMac is for let alone some slot under it. Is it still in production ?>

I assume your question is to whether the slotted iMacs are still in production. I believe the slot disappeared in one of the next two succeeding generations (probably the first).

iMacs continue to sell pretty well but I won't go there.

We looked at an iMac today as a replacement for an old Mac. The compactness is a factor as well as being simple and with firewire/iMovie/etc. We have PCs for when we want to mess around with hardware and software! ;-)
