Cirrus - <After looking at another PDF linked to from this one, I noticed the current stepping for Cumine is A2 as this PDF states.

This must be what Chuck and Paul have said about a new stepping for Cumine.

This PDF says the new stepping first availability isn't until April 7. In Intel's words, this is what that means ->

I don't know if you can infer that any of the steppings listed will be 512 cache size. It may be, it may not.

Also, I believe the date you refer to is an estimate, not a hard fact, i.e., it would be subject to upward revision (the key word is "Forecasted" :-)).

I do not feel comfortable going into descriptive detail on how information in this document either relates, or doesn't relate, to what is going on with product and process development, and subsequent achievement of milestones.

I would suggest keeping all this in mind, and correlate it to events going forward to test and evaluate the effectiveness of your models, e.g., attempting to discern Cumine milestones going forward by interpreting the stepping info listed on the product specification. Some of it may work out for you, some of it may not. I actually admire your tenacity on this. Good luck.

PB

Cirruslvr,

<Date Customer Must be Ready to Receive Post-Conversion Material: April 7, 2000
Date of First Availability of Post-Conversion Material: April 7, 2000">

I think these are conservative dates. I am expecting February for socketed parts and March for Slot 1 parts.

<This must be what Chuck and Paul have said about a new stepping for Cumine. >

I don't if Paul ever said that but I sure did!

Chuck

P.S.:

PB, weren't you trying to discredit me on that one when I posted it a while back?
I just responded to you a few posts back where you were saying how "my track record was poor". What is your take on this one. Was I wrong or is Intel officially lying on the errata?
